Nike and Converse celebrated the launch of Space Jam: A New Legacy with custom Tunes and Goons gear. The challenge was that the clients needed product and lifestyle assets on a Tasmanian Devil fast timeline. Nemo came in to concept, create and produce assets for this high profile campaign launch.

The original Space Jam was a cultural icon, a mega mashup of sports and Hollywood, video and illustration, and reality and fantasy. It impacted a generation of sports fans that now have kids of their own, and this new sequel was an opportunity to share that experience with their kids. We wanted to appeal to those fans and show that both generations can rep the Tune Squad together.

Worlds collide in our design solution, just like they do in Space Jam: A New Legacy. We personified and energized the footwear, bringing the characters to life. We also tapped into the spirit of the movie and transported our family (and family of products) to the cartoon world to hoop with the Looney Tunes.

Merge the Worlds

Nemo created custom illustrations for the campaign backgrounds. Continuing with the theme of legacy, we took inspiration from classic mid-century Looney Tunes backdrops by Maurice Noble to fuse the classic heritage aesthetic with the modern product silhouettes and youthful, confident posing.
